Sweet Blueberry Biscuits

 Ingredients for biscuits:

  • 2 cups flour 
  • 1 cup cold milk 
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  •  5 tablespoons cold or frozen butter 
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder 
  • 1 teaspoon salt 
  • 3 ounces blueberries (fresh or dried) 

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 450°F 

2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder

3. Pour the cold milk and blueberries into the dry ingredients

4. Freeze a stick of butter for about an hour, then grate into flour. 

5. Fold and knead the dough to distribute the butter chunks evenly 

6. Roll the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 1/4 to 1/8 inch. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out about six biscuits

7. Place the biscuits on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 7-12 minutes, or until golden brown or bake in cast iron pan with melted butter


Ingredients for the glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar 

⅛ cup water 

1 teaspoon vanilla extract 

½ teaspoon lemon juice 

Glazing:

8. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and brush it over the warm biscuits

9. Mix the powdered sugar, water, vanilla extract, and lemon juice to create the glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the biscuits while they're warm
